Concert-at-Christmas: Dance Party
Join us after the holidays for our biggest performance of the season! Our 58th annual Concert-at-Christmas will have you on your feet to the sounds of French composer Georges Bizet’s Selections from “Carmen,” Aaron Copland’s Cuban inspired Danzón Cubano, John Williams’s legendary Yoda’s Theme from “The Empire Strikes Back,” and much more.
Conducted by David Hattner, PYP’s Musical Director.
For this performance, PYP shares the stage with our Conservatory Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Young String Ensemble, and an Alumni Orchestra spanning our 96-year history. Our Conservatory Orchestra is led by long-time PYP conductor and prominent French horn player Lawrence Johnson. PYP Musical Director David Hattner conducts our Wind Ensemble and our Alumni Orchestra. The Young String Ensemble is led by Inés Voglar Belgique, the Oregon Symphony’s Assistant Principal Second Violin.
