Dance Theatre of Harlem - Cancelled
The well-being of our audience members, artists, and staff is of the utmost importance to us. We totally share your concerns about the spread of COVID-19. Our hearts go out to all those in our Portland community and around the world who are being impacted by this pandemic.
Governor Kate Brown has issued an order to cancel or postpone gatherings of 250 or more in the state of Oregon for the next four weeks. In light of the governor’s ban and theater closures, White Bird has cancelled the upcoming performances of Camille A. Brown & Dancers scheduled for April 2-4, 2020, Changmu Dance Company scheduled for April 15, 2020, and Dance Theatre of Harlem scheduled for May 12 & 13, 2020
Postponing and cancelling performances is an extremely difficult decision to make, but we know it is the socially responsible thing to do in order to best serve our community. As this situation evolves, we will communicate as clearly and directly about our plans and activities to continue to offer world class dance in the safest possible environment.
It is impossible to cancel performances without creating serious and lasting hardships for our organization and the wonderful artists we bring.
For questions about tickets, please contact White Bird by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 503-245-1600 ext. 201. All current ticket holders will be contacted soon via email with information and updates once details are confirmed for the rescheduled dates. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support during this difficult time.
Please accept our deepest gratitude for all you do to support White Bird.

In 1969, at the height of the civil rights movement, Arthur Mitchell and Karel Shook founded Dance Theatre of Harlem. Their vision remains one of the most democratic in dance. The legendary company of 17 brilliant dancers returns to White Bird to perform a program of dance by outstanding American choreographers past and present that will pay tribute to the pioneering spirit of the late Arthur Mitchell, one of the most beloved figures in American dance.
