Music on Main: Paul Creighton Project
The Paul Creighton Project unites Portland’s finest jazz and soul players with the songwriting and vocal talent of Intervision frontman Paul Creighton, evoking sounds in the vein of Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder. Continuing its lauded blend of soul infused cover and original music, the PCP (Paul Creighton Project) brings you an evening of incredible players delivering funky, booty-shaking jams.
A PDX super band if there ever was one, the PCP will feature JazzFM’s Soul Artist of the Year, Jarrod Lawson on keys and vocals, Jay “Bird” Koder (Gino Vannelli, Steve Miller Band, Herbie Hancock, Jeff Lorber) on guitar, Damian Erskine (Gino Vannelli, Peter Erskine, Les McCann) on bass, Reinhardt Melz (Pink Martini, Gino Vannelli) on drums, Joshua Cliburn (The Motet, Rubberneck) on saxophone, and Noah Simpson on Trumpet. As usual, we will have the unparalleled Leisa Hart-Grace (Gino Vanelli) to round out the stunning vocal showcase.
Paul has toured with The Motet, Joey Porter’s Funk Tributes, Soul Vaccination, Intervision, and he has had the distinct honor and privilege to have performed with such greats as Nate Watts (Stevie Wonder), Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson, Jeff Beck), Gail Mudrow (Sly and the Family Stone), Chester Thompson (Tower of Power, Santana), among others.
