China in Dance

This fall, the world-renowned Beijing Dance Academy will make its debut in the Portland community with a dazzling display of pageantry and artistic spectacle. 30 top dancers will perform 10 classical dances with breathtaking choreography and exquisite costumes. Liang Zhu (Butterfly Lovers) is the classical love story, known as the Chinese Romeo and Juliet, and Yellow River depicts the origin of Chinese culture and spirit.

Known as the “cradle of dancers,” the Beijing Dance Academy had admitted and graduated numerous students who have garnered critical acclaim. Currently it has about 600 faculty and staff and 7500 students.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the grandeur of China's performing arts!

This show is presented by American Asian Performing Arts Theatre and co-organized by the Portland Art & Cultural Center.
