The Man Who Forgot

“The Man Who Forgot”, based off of Neil Gaiman’s “The Man Who Forgot Ray Bradbury”, is an immersive dance and live music performance featuring Portland Tap Alliance’s new ensemble, Portland Tap Company, under artistic direction of Kelsey Leonard, and original score created by GRAMMY-nominated pianist and composer, Josh Rawlings. This show explores the capacity of the human mind to remember the past, to carry information forward, and of the fleeting yet magnificent nature of being human. Featuring guest choreography by Jessie Sawyers in collaboration with Kelsey Leonard.

A note from the Artistic Director: This concept resonates with us immensely as tap dancers and we are honored to be tackling such a heavy topic. In the tap dance community, we are tasked with remembering so much of our own history. Gaiman’s work made me question the gaps in our own knowledge and the importance of remembering those who have come before us.

Portland Tap Alliance

Our mission is to promote the art of tap dance in the Pacific Northwest and globally, paying special attention to the Portland-metro area.
