PYP opens Season 101 with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s intensely emotional and melodic Violin Concerto, featuring PYP alumna Hanami Froom, violin.
Let the soulful notes of William Grant Still’s Second Symphony (subtitled “Song of a New Race”) envelop you, blending blues and jazz into a rich tapestry of sound. This Portland premiere is sure to leave you captivated and ready for more!
Silvestre Revueltas’s famous Sensemayá is based on Cuban poet Nicolás Guillén’s poem by the same name. This dynamic piece performed by a large orchestra will electrify the audience, creating a memorable experience for years to come.
