Beethoven’s beloved “Pastoral” Symphony, filled with buoyant melodies inspired by the German countryside, anchors a trio of offerings that promise to transport the listener to new surroundings. Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis builds a lush musical tapestry from an old English melody.
