Ravel & Sibelius: Bridging Culture and Sound

Patron Safety

Oregon Symphony will require upon entry to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall a proof of full vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test, and a face covering to attend concerts and events.

Explore the merging of cultural traditions through music. Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1 combines Finnish folk influences with the Russian Romantic style of Tchaikovsky, while Ravel’s Piano Concerto – performed by Turkish composer and pianist Fazil Say – fuses French music with American jazz.

Fazil Say: Grand Bazaar
Ravel: Piano Concerto in G Major
Sibelius: Symphony No. 1

David Danzmayr, Conductor
